FPHA is not typical – it provides an unusual opportunity for committee members to contribute to the turn-around of a community organisation with a great history and a great future. At present, we are recovering from weaknesses in governance and financial management which led to the intervention of the Scottish Housing Regulator. The intervention included the appointment of 3 housing professionals to our Management Board. We have benefited greatly from their expertise and their own organisations have benefited from the learning and renewal at FPHA. We want to prepare for their departure by recruiting people with similar skills in housing, regeneration, law or social housing finance.
They may have previous Business Experience, Specialist housing and related knowledge and it will be a bonus if they also have Local knowledge: for example, awareness of the housing and wider community needs in Ferguslie Park, awareness of concerns facing FPHA’s customers, knowledge of local issues in Renfrewshire and the needs and priorities of the people who live here, familiarity with Renfrewshire Council’s plans, priorities and practices.
- Commitment to supporting the community that FPHA serves
- Willingness to work hard as a member of a team which has responsibility for leading and directing FPHA’s work.
