Both companies are well established ground engineering contractors specialising in the installation of piling, foundations, geotechnical solutions and retaining structures.
The new alliance will enable both Aarsleff Ground Engineering and Northern Piling to expand in a highly promising market and offer a full range of ground engineering services, from small local projects to major national work, and everything in between.
Under the deal, Northern Piling will remain piling within Scotland, with Aarsleff Ground Engineering providing the geotechnical services and/or retaining structures, to complete the foundation package offering.
The companies have also entered into agreement that they will offer their joint service for ground beam and foundation solutions in Scotland only.
Kevin Hague, director at Aarsleff Ground Engineering, said: “We see key opportunities in Scotland for both our organisation’s services to be used here and as an alliance, we wish to work closer together to win and deliver that work. Our unique offering allows us to provide tailored packages to our clients, often multidisciplinary, specific to the relevant sector, known by others as a One Stop Shop solution.”
Bill Mitchell, director at Northern Piling, said: “We are pleased to have joined forces with Aarsleff Ground Engineering. Together, we can deliver greater convenience and customer service to serve our clients and are now able to provide the total ground foundations package.”
Cameron Burns, operations director at Northern Piling, added: “Our collaboration with Aarsleff is successful because we both have highly experienced teams with a complete focus on project delivery. Through this alliance, Northern Piling are now able provide a tailored, technically excellent service that best suits our client’s needs, whether its providing a driven precast piling and precast ground beam package for a residential development, driving large diameter steel tubes for a new port, installing soil nails for a small slope stabilisation scheme, or internally too, by investing in our staff’s training and development.”
