A77 Maybole Bypass

A new 5km road will improve road safety and air quality in Maybole while offering more reliable journey times on the A77, transport minister Jenny Gilruth said yesterday as she opened the town's new bypass.

Transport Scotland has hailed the “significant progress” made in constructing the A77 Maybole Bypass since Michael Matheson, cabinet secretary for transport, infrastructure and connectivity, marked the start of work in May last year.

A major infrastructure contract has been awarded to improve the vital South West A77 route. Wills Bros Civil Engineering Limited has won a £31.5 million construction contract to build the Maybole Bypass on the A77.
