The 1,800-square-feet ‘drive thru and drive up’ scheme has been pre-let to Starbucks on a 15-year lease and the popular coffee retailer is expected to open to the public in March.

Located close to Junction 26 on the busy M8 motorway, the £1.4 million development is the first of a planned amenity zone with capacity for further road-side schemes and is part of Frasers Property’s development plans to build up tenant amenities and attract new occupiers at Hillington Park.

Negotiations for a second drive-thru/drive-up food amenity are at an advanced stage which could see a further addition in 2021.

The new ‘drive thru and drive up’ outlet will neighbour other high-profile businesses including Taggarts Volvo and Jaguar, Arnold Clark Renault and Dacia, and West Coast Harley-Davidson. As well as the drive thru there will be parking for up to 31 vehicles.

Julia Cheung Buchanan, development manager for Hillington Park, said: “Initially the project faced weather and ground condition challenges and then the pandemic arrived and brought even greater hurdles to deal with. However, everyone involved worked extremely hard to navigate through all of those challenges and we are now pleased to be ready to hand over to Starbucks to fit out before opening in March.

“Starbucks is another prominent brand that has chosen Hillington Park as a place to do business and we’re looking forward to them opening and bringing another popular food and drink option to the estate for those working here and those visiting.”
