Grey foiled PVC-U windows are a key element in a stylish renovation of a disused bakery building in Glasgow carried out by civil engineering and ground works specialists Deans Engineering.

The 60 year old bakery, which had been standing empty since 2012, has been completely refurbished by Deans as their new Glasgow headquarters.

Forty two fixed and tilt and turn windows and two sets of fire exit doors have been fabricated and installed by commercial fabricators PWS, part of the Perfect Glazing Group, using the REHAU TOTAL70 window system.

Deans Engineering specified windows in REHAU PVC-U to replace grey aluminium frames which were in place previously. They chose PVC-U because of the improved thermal efficiency, the competitive pricing and the stylish aesthetics. REHAU’s TOTAL70 window system can be used to fabricate windows with a U-Value of less than 1.0W/m2K and are available in a huge range of foiled colours suitable for the commercial sector.

PWS were chosen by Deans Engineering on the basis of recommendation and the company’s growing reputation in the commercial sector in Scotland.

PWS, which is also based in Glasgow, manufactures all of its own frames and even has a toughened glass plant on-site producing toughened glass to certified British Standards.
