AS Homes expands with four new appointments

Glasgow-based housebuilder AS Homes (Scotland) Ltd has made four new appointments to support its plans for growth, which remain on course, despite the current economic uncertainties.

The company has announced the promotion of finance manager Gillian Quigley to company director plus the recruitment of Simon Donaldson to the new role of finance director.

James Loughrey joins as senior quantity surveyor and Ainslie McCrone has been appointed as sales and marketing co-ordinator.

AS Homes has a longstanding reputation for building high-quality affordable properties for housing associations, and also constructs homes for private sale through its Briar Homes subsidiary.

Paul Kelly, managing director of AS Homes, said: “Despite the well-documented economic uncertainties resulting from the health crisis, we are cautiously optimistic that we can continue to expand our offering of design-led, private and affordable housing.

“Gillian, Simon and James will play a vital role in driving forward the company’s expansion plans and Ainslie will upweight our marketing plans as we move forward with our second development for Briar Homes at Darnley, south of Glasgow.”

Gillian Quigley joined AS Homes in 2007 as finance manager, following a successful accountancy career that was mainly in practice and with global energy company Shell.

Since then, she has brought her combined experience to bear to support AS Homes’ continued expansion.

Finance director Simon Donaldson joins from retirement living specialists McCarthy & Stone where he was regional finance director for Scotland.



A chartered accountant, he will concentrate on developing a strategy for future growth with a particular focus on growing the private homes side of the business.

Ainslie McCrone

James Loughrey joins as senior quantity surveyor, bringing a wealth of experience gained from development, quantity surveying and procurement roles at Robertson Partnership Homes, Engie and Mactaggart & Mickel in both social housing and private housing development.

Ainslie McCrone takes on the newly created role of sales and marketing co-ordinator for Briar Homes.



Ainslie has worked in the housing sector for almost 25 years, having been senior sales negotiator and sales manager at Allen and Harris Estate Agents followed by sales manager at Caledonia Bureau.
