The hub programme is an innovative long-term approach to providing new community facilities for the delivery of local community services (such as education, health, social care and neighbourhood services). The hub South East Scotland programme involves local public sector organisations in the South East Territory working collaboratively and in partnership with private sector development partner SPACE Scotland Limited in a joint venture company, hub South East Scotland Limited.

Brodies’ infrastructure team, which includes experts in infrastructure, procurement, finance and construction, will work with hub South East Scotland Limited on a series of projects including Castlebrae High School, the Winchburgh Education Campus and Wallyford High School, which are all due to be delivered in the next few years.

This is the latest in a number of infrastructure appointments for Brodies which include a place on the Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council Framework; working with Abellio on its successful bid to operate the East Midlands Railway passenger rail franchise and with other franchise operators; and with Perth & Kinross Council on the Cross Tay Link Road.

The firm has also recently added to its team with the appointment of infrastructure specialist, Stuart Murray as senior associate.

Stuart joins Brodies from Pinsent Masons and brings with him extensive experience advising project sponsors, authorities, contractors and funders on a wide range of social and economic infrastructure PPP programmes in the UK and Ireland in the education, health, student accommodation, waste water, municipal waste and transport sectors

Head of Brodies’ infrastructure group, Drysdale Graham, said: “There is a clear message of intent from our clients when looking at the number of significant and strategic infrastructure projects taking place in Scotland, and the rest of the UK and Ireland. This latest appointment from hub South East Scotland Limited demonstrates our ability to bring together teams of infrastructure specialists that are perfectly positioned to support our clients on the delivery of major projects. Adding to that expertise, we welcome Stuart to the team and are sure our clients will benefit from his experience and expertise.”
