  • Consultation on Gorebridge conservation area launched

Midlothian Council has launched a public consultation on its draft planning guidance for the Gorebridge Conservation Area.

Building Briefs – September 6th

Conservation Area Appraisal & Management Plans are a non-statutory form of planning guidance. Their aim is to highlight the significance of a conservation area in terms of its built environment and history, and to provide a framework for managing change within the area.



The draft Gorebridge Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plan has now been published.

The draft plan and other details are available to view online and views can be emailed to conservation@midlothian.gov.uk. Paper copies are available at the council’s Fairfield House reception in Dalkeith and at Gorebridge Library.

The closing date for comments is Wednesday 30 October 2019.

 



  • Pitlochry Resurfacing works to take place from early September

Road resurfacing works on the A924 Atholl Road, Pitlochry and adjoining side roads will be taking place from Monday 9 September 2019.

The works are scheduled to last approximately three weeks, subject to weather conditions.

 



  • Aberdeenshire approves plan for hall to be replaced

Aberdeenshire Council has granted planning permission for a replacement community hall.

The trustees of the Crathes Public Hall Trust first lodged plans for a new community facility in July.

Full planning permission has now been granted for the venture, which means work can begin on demolishing the current hall.



The trustees hope to start construction in 2021.

 

  • Glenshimmeroch wind farm approved on appeal

A 10-turbine wind farm in southern Scotland has been approved on appeal.



Developers Energiekontor took the case to the Scottish Government over Dumfries and Galloway Council’s failure to issue a decision.

A reporter concluded the Glenshimmeroch project near Dalry could go ahead with a string of conditions.
