The business won Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce’s keenly-contested ROCCO award for ‘Developing the Young Workforce’ in a ringing endorsement of all it does for young people.

CGC swept to victory at the ceremony held in Renfrewshire which rewarded the area’s top businesses.

In its submission to the judges, CGC set out the deep-rooted activity which the business undertakes in delivering rewarding careers in construction for young people.

This includes apprenticeships, putting young people through university to study for careers in such things as quantity surveying and sending staff into schools to train pupils in skills like joinery.

Reacting to the win, Leo Reilly, managing director of CGC, said: “This is a great endorsement of all that we do to support young people. We are deeply committed to this course of action and will continue to actively encourage young people to consider careers in construction.

“We thank Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity to enter the ROCCO Awards and are delighted to have won.”

The ROCCOs are the annual business awards of Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce held annually in November every year for more than a decade. The ROCCOs allow local businesses and organisations of all sizes and sectors to enter a wide range of award categories.
