For the 16th year running, the construction, refurbishment and maintenance contractor has been awarded accreditation from Alcumus SafeContractor, the third party accreditation scheme which recognises very high standards in health and safety management amongst UK contractors.

Clark Contracts has also been awarded CHAS for the 13th consecutive year, further confirming its dedication to health and safety across the company. CHAS is an established market leader for health and safety pre-qualification in the UK.

The main contractor achieved a third accreditation, Acclaim, which is the health and safety accreditation specialising in the award of SSIP (Safety Schemes In Procurement) certification.

Clark Contracts’ application for the Alcumus SafeContractor, CHAS and Acclaim accreditations was driven by the company’s desire for a uniform standard across the business.

The company’s commitment to health and safety has also been externally recognised by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) which awarded the main contractor its fourth consecutive President’s Award in 2019 following 13 consecutive gold medal awards.

Gordon Cunningham, managing director, Clark Contracts, said: “Having been accredited by SafeContractor since 2003 and CHAS since 2006, we understand the value of external accreditation to verify our standards across the company.

“These are just a few of the health and safety accreditations we are recognised by and we have also recently became a Constructionline Gold member, having held a membership with Constructionline since 2004.”
