Judges selected SIPs Scotland to win for its Tighetebhu custom house build.

Drawing praise from the panel, judges said: “SIPs Scotland provided excellent levels of customer support in realising Tighetebhu - a high-quality eco-home that represents a perfect use of structural insulated panels, while also incorporating touches such as gently curved walls that belie the use of a factory-made construction system.”

The Tighetebhu project was further recognised by the awards, with a further short-listing in the ‘Best Accessible/Inclusive Home’ category.

SIPs Scotland Ltd managing director, Malcolm Thomson, said: “As a SIPs construction specialist we are driven to deliver the highest levels of service and technical ability for our clients, receiving this award has recognised our standards as niche leaders. We’re thrilled to have our work validated on a national level and this will only strengthen our resolve to continue to over-deliver on each and every project.”

The Tighetebhu property is situated near Inchture village in Perthshire. The project was designed by AC Architects with SIPs Scotland carefully selected by the client in 2017 as main contractor for the project. The property consists of a large entertaining space comprising of a bespoke handmade kitchen/dining area/lowered lounge, sun room, four double bedrooms, cinema room, games room, plant room and double garage. For accessibility the property was also fitted with a glass-fronted lift and incorporated a curved kitchen/dining/lounge area which required innovative use of faceted Kingspan TEK SIPs panels.
