Robertson staff enjoy Hamilton Park Racecourse fun run for Lighthouse Club

It was a day at the races with a difference as a group of runners from Robertson downed tools and took to the track to take part in a charity fun run.

Sixteen Robertson employees and subcontractors working onsite at the new Hampton by Hilton Hamilton Park donned a variety of costumes – including the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) mascots Ivor and Honor Goodsite, The Hulk and Jack Sparrow.

The characters ran a section of the racecourse in aid of The Lighthouse Club – a charity that provides financial and emotional support to the construction community and their families.

The team set a target fundraising amount of £2500, which has already been exceeded.

Gemma Gourlay, director of social sustainability for Robertson, said: “Well done to everyone from Team Robertson who was involved in the organisation of the fun run and raising such a fantastic amount for The Lighthouse Club.

“We all have a responsibility to protect the safety and wellbeing of all the construction community, so it’s great to be able to support the charity in all the important work it carries out.”

Support for the runners has come from their friends and families, together with a variety of businesses directly linked with the Hampton by Hilton Hamilton Project, including; Dalriada Scaffolding Ltd, Hamilton Bricklaying Services Ltd, Hescott Engineering, MK Timber Systems Ltd, Robertson Civil Engineering, Marshall Brown, NWH Group, DMH Electrical O’Neill and Brennan Fire Safety Services.

Ed Parry, managing director of Robertson Central West, said: “We are immensely proud of the positive impact that we have on our communities and related charities and a big thank you to Hamilton Park racecourse for supporting the event.”
