Broadcaster and former cabinet minister Michael Portillo, Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson MSP and Scottish cabinet secretary for the economy, jobs and fair work Keith Brown MSP will headline this year’s 10th annual Scottish Property Federation (SPF) conference.

All three will address the conference in March which will focus on the importance of attracting global capital to Scotland and in this local election year, driving economic development at a local level.

The conference, themed on Global Capital, Local Growth, will take place on 8 March 2017 at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre from 12pm-4.30pm.

The Conference is set to hear from policy makers at UK, Scottish and local government levels on how they plan to drive local economic development in towns and cities. There will also be interactive opportunities at the conference to enable delegates to question the speakers on their perceptions and insights of global capital and local development.

Other headline speakers include Scottish based developers such as the SPF chairman and Quartermile Developments MD Paul Curran, as well as major investors such as Marc Gilbard of Moorfield Group and depute leader of City of Edinburgh Council, Frank Ross.

Paul Curran said: “We are thrilled to announce such a strong line-up of keynote speakers for our 10th annual conference including Ruth Davidson, Keith Brown and Michael Portillo.

“The conference provides the industry with an opportunity to put our issues directly to the UK and Scottish Government, leading politicians and commentators.

“In the industry we all know how crucial securing global capital is and we must ensure this message is at the forefront of politicians’ and key decision-makers’ minds.”

Vice-chair of the SPF, Andrew Sutherland of Miller Developments, will close the conference with a summary of the day, ahead of a networking and drinks reception.
