Dundee has transformed itself in recent years and now has a growing economy and population, with a vibrant waterfront, including the highly successful V&A Dundee.
This post is in charge of Construction Services, the Council’s in-house delivery service for repairs and construction projects. Construction Services is overseen by a management board, including senior Council officers and stakeholders.
You will manage the delivery of commercial contracts, ensuring customer satisfaction and generating a surplus and lead several teams responsible for the construction, modernisation, repairs, cyclical and planned maintenance for all Council properties, which includes the Council housing stock, schools, offices and community centres. Construction Services also has the opportunity to bid for larger projects as part of the Council’s capital plan.
Key to success is effective resource planning, procurement and tight control of budgets, health and safety and a high standard of work are of utmost importance.
An accomplished professional at a senior level, you will have a relevant professional qualification and a record of achievement through leading multi-disciplinary teams. You will be a leader, innovator and strategic thinker, with a record of successful collaborative working and highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
