Blackwood Homes and Care

At Blackwood our purpose is to help people live independently, using innovation and technology so that they can have choice and control over how they live.

We are award-winning pioneers in providing highly accessible homes for people with disabilities and more recently for older people. We promote the use of technology to enable people to access services, connect with their family and friends, and have more choices on the connections they make so that they can live life to the full.

We co-design with people who have lived experience and we collaborate with great industry and academic partners, so we know our products are designed as fit for purpose and best in class. We build trusted relationships so that people will share their data for their benefit and the wider benefit of others.

Board member position

We are seeking voluntary Board Members to help us deliver our services for more people in Scotland.

Specifically, we need new members with experience in:

  • Financial planning and management
  • Care
  • Marketing and Communications
  • Digital technology and service design

These skill sets are desired to make sure we grow as a financially sustainable business. Ideally you might also offer experience in social housing or with a commercial background.

It is helpful if you have previous Non-Executive Board experience, but we can also provide support and training for the right person. Most importantly you will work collaboratively with other Board members, care about our purpose, and be ambitious for our future.
