Solar PV Designer

We specialise in the design and installation of utility-scale, BESS, wind, and solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The Role

The Solar PV Designer will be responsible for designing photovoltaic systems that meet the needs of our clients, ensuring efficiency, compliance with regulations and overall system performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar energy systems, electrical engineering and proficiency in design software.

Responsibilities

  • System Design:
    • Conduct site assessments to determine solar feasibility, including shading analysis, roof condition, and structural integrity.
    • Create detailed solar PV system designs using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVSol, Pvsyst and PVCase).
    • Develop single-line diagrams, electrical schematics and layout plans for solar PV systems.
    • Specify and select appropriate solar components, including modules, inverters, racking and wiring.
  • Project Coordination:
    • Collaborate with sales, project management and installation teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with client expectations.
    • Prepare and submit planning applications and grid connection applications to relevant authorities.
    • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates and technical reports.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all designs comply with local, state and national electrical codes, building codes, and safety standards.
    • Perform quality control checks on design documents and installation plans.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies and best practices in solar PV design.
  • Client Interaction:
    • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their energy needs and provide design solutions that maximise system performance and Return on Investment (RoI).
    • Provide technical support and answer client queries throughout the design and installation process.
