Proposals by global sports entertainment company Topgolf International will see the multi-level complex situated on derelict land at Cambuslang Road.

Designed by Cooper Cromar on behalf of Ashfield Land, the facility will include an open-air roof terrace, event space and bar behind three tiers of driving bays, together with parking for 336 vehicles.

As well as the driving range, the new facility will feature gaming areas, multiple restaurants and a 52-metre netting system enclosure.

In a design statement, the architects wrote: “Natural stacked stone anchors the centre of the building. Timber panelling is used throughout the exterior and gives a modern, tailored feeling to the building.

“The grand entrance is flanked by a modern concrete block retaining walls that help create interest in the landscape.”

If approved, the facility in Rutherglen will be Topgolf’s first new UK venue for 15 years and the first in Scotland.

Around 350 new jobs are expected to be created.
