Plans for 193 more homes lodged for Halbeath Interchange

Housebuilders Persimmon and Bellway have submitted the plans for the second residential phase of their joint venture development near Dunfermline’s new £180 million super campus.

Plans for 193 more homes lodged for Halbeath Interchange

Located on the former Freescale/Hyundai site north of Dunfermline’s Amazon warehouse, phase two of the Halbeath Interchange project, will see 193 additional homes delivered, 48 of which will be affordable housing units, as well as associated drainage, hard landscaping and green spaces.

The two firms built 225 homes in the first phase to the north of the site of the new proposal. The final count will be 32 short of the original 450-home masterplan approved in 2014.

“The vision is for a new neighbourhood which has a sense of identity, is safe and pleasant in terms of the location and nature of open space, is easy to move through and reflects the priorities of both local and national design guidance,” the firms said in a joint statement submitted to Fife Council.

A decision on the application is expected sometime during the summer.
