Plans lodged for new school in Bishopbriggs

Bishopbriggs primary schoolArchial Norr has lodged a planning application for a new primary school in East Dunbartonshire.

To be built by Morgan Sindall on the site of the existing Woodhill Primary School in Bishopbriggs, the new development will replace the current Auchinairn and Woodhill Primaries and forms part of the East Dunbartonshire Council’s Primary School Improvement Programme.

Gordon Currie, director of education & children’s services, said: “Having consulted with pupils, parents, school staff and the local community over the last year, the design for the new primary school in Bishopbriggs has now been finalised.

“The proposal is based on the national reference design that was created for Lairdsland Primary School in Kirkintilloch which was the first new school built as part of the council’s Primary School Improvement Plan.”

The application will be considered by the council’s planning service over the coming weeks before it is referred to the planning board for a decision.
