Cairn Housing Association has successfully completed 27 brand new homes for social rent in Blackridge.

Working alongside its partners O’Brien Properties, Brownriggs and Ross Quality Control, with funding support from West Lothian Council and the Scottish Government, the development marks a significant milestone in Cairn’s ongoing commitment to meet the house needs of local communities.

With meticulous attention to detail by all partners, Cairn has created 27 modern and comfortable, one and two-bedroom level-access bungalows for over 55s, providing a safe and spacious environment for those in need of local housing.

The opening ceremony, held on a rainy summer’s day, was attended by representatives from Cairn, O’Brien Properties, Brownriggs, Ross Quality Control and Blackridge Community Council, who were delighted to witness the realisation of their collaborative efforts. Many tenants also braved the inclement weather, and they were kind enough to graciously open their homes for viewings.

In recognition of the tenants’ cooperation and support, and recognising the current cost of living pressures, Cairn gave every tenant at the development a welcome card containing Tesco gift vouchers.

Jason MacGilp, chief executive, said: “Today marks a significant milestone for Cairn Housing Association as we celebrate the opening of these 27 beautiful homes in Blackridge. We are proud to have partnered with O’Brien Properties, Brownriggs, and Ross Quality Control, whose expertise and commitment have helped turn this vision into a reality.

“These homes will provide a safe and secure environment for our tenants, helping to address the pressing need for affordable housing in West Lothian. We thank our tenants who allowed us to visit their new homes where there was already a great community spirit amongst the new neighbours.”
