Plans for the site on Goremire Road in Carluke, which have been submitted to the local council, outline a possible future for the disused land including 81 affordable residences within a Community Growth Area, alongside parking provision and other local amenities.

In collaboration with MAST Architects, as well as engineers Clyde Design Partnership, energy consultants Carbon Futures and planning consultants Iceni Projects, The JR Group is aiming for planning approval by this summer.

As The JR Group’s first project in the Carluke area, the team has worked closely with South Lanarkshire Council on all design aspects.

Andrew Dallas, projects director for The JR Group, said: “Dealing with the planning department at South Lanarkshire Council has been a first-class experience, working collaboratively to design homes that the community will be proud of.

We look forward to hearing the outcome of our application and hope to do further work with South Lanarkshire Council in the future.”
