The cross-party agreement which was made at the Net Zero, Environment and Transport Committee will lead to more engagement with stakeholders such as South of the City community councils and Lochside Academy.  

The committee’s convener, council co-leader Ian Yuill said: “Having met personally with the local community councils, I am aware of the strength of feeling locally regarding the proposals for the two projects. 

“That is why it is vital the Council continues to work with the local communities to seek solutions that work for everyone.”

Vice-convener Councillor Miranda Radley said: “Following very powerful deputations from the four South of the City Community Councils, I was happy that committee have agreed to additional engagement with Lochside Parent Voice and school community, the community councils and other groups impacted by the proposals.

“I look forward to seeing the results of this engagement, and the overall holistic review of the proposals before committee in February.”

It was also agreed by the committee to look into the feasibility, cost and possible funding options for a new section of footway located on the east side of Coast Road between Burnbanks Village and Burnbanks Railway Bridge and to consider its delivery if deemed feasible.
