During the summer of 2017 akp completed the CAT B Fit Out of the company’s new unit on Level 3 at Skypark SP5.

akp was approached in 2019 by Ceridian to help with its expansion onto the 4th floor of SP5. The new workspace features high specification fixtures and finishes throughout. This includes a number of bespoke joinery pieces, created using traditional joinery techniques for some of the more organic finishes and fully automated CNC machining processes to produce functional and beautiful end products.

akp worked with trusted supply chain partner SCENEgineering for the many aspects of bespoke joinery required for this project. SCENE is renowned for creating exceptional interior manufactured joinery.

Sonia Dempster, senior director, operations with Ceridian, noted: “At Ceridian we help our customers create modern HR experiences employees love. We apply that to our people too. That means creating an environment where people feel inspired, engaged and supported. The past year has forced us to reimagine the world of work faster than we could have imagined.

“Yet, we remain unwavered in our commitment to deliver a physical workplace where our people can produce great work. We are excited to welcome our team to experience this new space when the time is right.”

Moira Murdoch, akp director, said: “It is always supremely satisfying to be involved in the delivery of a beautifully executed project. With the completed fit out Ceridian have added to their portfolio and now have another office fit for the future.

“Despite a challenging programme, a lockdown and then the ongoing Covid restrictions our Site Manager David Boyle completed the Project with a cool head and an eye for detail – he certainly had his work cut out!”

Julia, of Julia Grant Interiors, added: “We were delighted to be asked again by Ceridian to create more workspace for them at Skypark to help attract the best people to join them.

“The design reflects the character of their existing offices within the building creating a flexible and efficient workplace with places to work, meet and socialise. Great to have worked with akp and Cushman and Wakefield again to deliver another successful result.”

Cushman & Wakefield partner Laura Mitchell said: “Cushman & Wakefield are delighted to have delivered another successful project for Ceridian at Skypark with this impressive office fit out. C&W provided Project Management, Cost Management, Contract Admin, TDD, Principal Designer and MEP design services. Integral to the project team Julia Grant Interiors and contractor akp Scotland.”

Iain Munro of SCENEgineering added: “This project is a beautiful amalgamation of Ceridian’s cutting-edge digital technology, their commitment to delivering intelligence at work, and bespoke crafted natural materials and surfaces resulting in an amazing and pleasant space to work from. It was an absolute pleasure to work with the akp Scotland team on this and realise Julia Grants’ creative vision and we hope Ceridian enjoys it for years to come.”
