The worker returned from a lunch break and noticed a smashed window at the property he was renovating in Escondido, San Diego.

Walking inside to if anyone was inside, he found a masked burglar in the hallway.

Confronted by the worker, the suspect pulled out a gun then escaped in an unknown direction.

Police confirmed that the construction worker was not injured and the incident is being investigated as an interrupted burglary.
