And finally… Construction workers filmed play fighting close to 10ft drop

How the completed Sutton Point development wil look

Two construction workers tumbled around on a Sutton building site perilously close to a 10ft drop.

The pair, apparently play-fighting, were filmed grappling on the second storey of the £90m Sutton Point development in the town centre as colleagues worked below.

At one point in the footage, filmed by a worker in nearby Quadrant House office block, the boisterous duo wrestle on the floor as a construction vehicle moves below them at the bottom of the drop, just two metres away.

The woman who shot the video told the Sutton Guardian: “I was waiting for one of them to fall down.

“It strikes me as odd that two grown men showed such disregard for health and safety rules and would put their lives and their colleagues’ lives in danger.

“They obviously don’t need hardhats because they’ve got no brains that need protecting.”

CNM Estates began work on the three-tower development, near Sutton station, earlier this year. The complete project will comprise of 300 apartments, a hotel, shops, restaurants and offices.
