And finally… Crazy Golf architecture returns for Dundee street festival

A tour of crazy golf holes designed by architects two years ago for the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is to return for a street festival in Dundee this weekend.

The course includes famous landmarks throughout time such as the Falkirk Wheel, The Tay Bridge, the Royal Arch and the V&A. It will be available to play for free from noon on Saturday and Sunday during Dundee’s summer street festival.

Two years ago, architects and designers from all over the Dundee Institute of Architects (DIA) Chapter were invited to design a crazy golf hole incorporating a recognisable architectural landmark. This was then taken on tour as one of more than 400 events taking place across Scotland during 2016 as part of the Festival of Architecture organised by the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS).

Ged Young, DIA Festival of Architecture coordinator said at the time: “The 9 crazy golf holes celebrate the creativity of architecture and hopefully the buildings displayed trigger the memories captured by those who visit our cities, towns and countryside.”
