And finally... full of crap

Donald Trump’s Aberdeenshire golf course has breached sewage contamination limits 14 times since 2019, according to documents released by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa).

The 36-hole resort, one of two owned by the former US president in Scotland, relies on a private sewage system that filters wastewater through gravel beds in raised mounds before releasing it into the ground.

But Sepa records show repeated exceedances in groundwater samples, including five occasions in the past 18 months, for contaminants linked to untreated human waste, such as suspended solids, ammoniacal nitrogen, and high biochemical oxygen demand.

Eight of the breaches were classed as “upper tier” incidents, which Sepa defines as extreme events with the potential to cause immediate and serious environmental harm.

Trump International Scotland disputed the findings.

Executive vice-president Sarah Malone insisted the licence had never been refused and said: “It would be categorically wrong to suggest our system is causing environmental damage … Any exceedances have been very rare.”

Sepa said while the resort’s performance should improve, the environmental impact of the incidents was judged “minimal,” noting that wastewater undergoes further natural filtration before entering the ground.
