Former Scotland captain and Rangers FC legend Graeme Souness has won a major battle to construct a new luxury home in his garden.

The retired footballer and football manager, who captained Liverpool and both played for and managed Rangers in the 1980s, faced opposition from his neighbours for the development.

His proposed three-bedroom property, in the garden of his existing £3 million home, includes a gym, steam room, plunge pool and a double garage.



Planners at Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council rejected attempts by his neighbour and conservation campaigners to stop the project, The Scottish Sun reports.
