And finally... hole lot of trouble

A truck that was deployed to repair a sinkhole in New Jersey this week fell victim to another sinkhole, which swallowed up the entire vehicle.

The massive sinkhole opened up in Phillipsburg on Tuesday. The truck fell into it when it was in the neighbourhood to help repair another sinkhole that opened up the day before.

Video footage has revealed heavy machinery being used to lighten the truck’s load as it sat wedged in the middle of the street.

Firefighters went door-to-door Wednesday to assist in voluntary evacuations, alerting families in the area to a nearby warming centre as the town investigates what exactly happened.

According to Phillipsburg Mayor Randy Piazza, seven homes have been deemed unsafe, and dozens more are without water or power.

It is still unclear how long repairs will take.
