And finally… kit home

A construction worker got an unexpected surprise when he spotted a small, furry creature nestled in a corner of the site.
On closer inspection, the worker at a job site on Manhattan’s Lower East Side discovered not one, but three tiny kittens.
Worried about the kittens’ safety, especially with the site due to shut down for the weekend, the worker quickly contacted Animal Haven, a local non-profit animal rescue. The team at Animal Haven knew time was of the essence and rushed to the scene.
When they arrived, the rescuers found the kittens tucked away in a crawl space near a laundry exhaust vent. Thankfully, the warm air from the vent had kept the little ones comfortable despite their dangerous surroundings.
The rescue team carefully collected the kittens and brought them to Animal Haven’s facility. There, the babies were treated to a hearty meal, a soothing flea bath, and a full veterinary checkup. With a clean bill of health, they were transferred to a loving foster home to rest and grow.
“We’re so happy that they seem to be healthy, and are no longer alone and at risk,” Animal Haven shared in a social media post.
Now safe and thriving in their foster home, the kittens are continuing to grow stronger each day. Once they’re old enough, they’ll meet potential adopters and begin the next chapter of their lives with forever families.
“The kittens are doing great!” said Tiffany Lacey, executive director of Animal Haven, in an update to The Dodo.
