And finally… oh ship!

And finally... oh ship!

A town in Dumfries and Galloway experienced a minor power outage after a Viking longboat crashed into power cables.

The full-size replica Viking ship was being transported through Kirkcudbright when it became “tangled” in overhead cables, the BBC reports.

SP Energy Networks said power was restored to the affected customer later in the same day.

Greg Collier-Jones, maritime officer with re-enactment group Regia Anglorum, said: “We scouted the route to make sure there were no low bridges but we failed to think about power cables.

“So, lesson learned, we are never rolling with the mast up again - she will be coming down and staying down.”
