And finally… pupils flies the flag for Taylor Wimpey
Taylor Wimpey West Scotland recently challenged Primary 5 pupils of Dargavel Primary School to design a flag to welcome customers and visitors to its Dargavel View development in Bishopton.
The winning flag design, created by Chloe, aged 10, has been produced into a flag that now proudly flies at the entrance to the development, providing a warm and colourful welcome to everyone visiting Dargavel View. Chloe took home a £50 book voucher and recently visited the development to see the flag in situ.
The standard of the entries was so high that five additional entries were chosen to form part of the additional signage at the development, welcoming visitors. These junior designers have each received a £15 book voucher.
Louise Chisholm, depute head teacher at Dargavel Primary, said: “Taking part in the Taylor Wimpey competition to design a flag for their Dargavel View housing development was an exciting opportunity for our Primary 5 classes to be involved in.
“The children enjoyed tackling their brief to create a bold and colourful design, and I understand the judges found it hard to choose a winner due to the high standard of entries. The flag looks great, and the banner is so colourful too. Together they showcase the hard work and artistic talent of our children and create a lovely connection between our school and the local Taylor Wimpey development.”
Audrey Ross, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, added: “We are delighted with the winning flag design and indeed the other designs that we chose to create a warm welcome to our Dargavel View development.
“We recognise the importance of making sure that we support the communities in which we build our new homes. It has been our pleasure to work with Dargavel Primary on this project, and to strengthen and extend our links once again within the local community of Dargavel Village and Bishopton.”
