And finally… Another dimension

And finally. . . Another dimension

A house shaped like a UFO in Idyllwild, California, known as the ‘Donaldson Futuro,’ has now gone on the market for $1.495 million.

The prefabricated dwelling, which was designed by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen, was conceived as a portable ski cabin that could be taken by a helicopter and installed in remote areas, Designboom reports.

The structure has a yellow fiberglass shell, circular windows, and an aircraft-style entrance.

The dwelling is owned by historic preservationist and ex-Obama administration appointee Milford Wayne Donaldson and his wife, Laurie Donaldson.

The house is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The structure has modular components that can be bolted together on-site, while its design enables the house to be dismantled and reassembled and taken away by helicopter.

Measuring roughly eight meters in diameter and four meters in height, the house contains 73.7 square meters of interior space.

The dwelling weighs roughly 5,398 kilograms and sits on a 0.23-hectare property in the San Jacinto Mountains near Idyllwild.
