The latest store to be built by Apple has been designed to resemble the global technology giant’s famous MacBook laptop computer.

Apple has teamed up with Foster+Partners, one of the most acclaimed architecture firms in the world, to design a global series of its stores.

And the latest to emerge, in the shopping district of Chicago in the US state of Illinois, features a carbon-fibre roof embellished with an Apple logo to resemble one of the company’s headline products.

An Apple logo was briefly attached to the roof of the building for about an hour recently and was peeled off by the crew for removal.

The logo will be stuck back on top of the thin, carbon-fiber roof near the completion of the building to resemble a MacBook, according to reports.

James McGrath, a partner at Foster+Partners said: “We wanted the building to be as light and transparent as possible. We want it to be more than just a shopping experience”.
