Angus business park gets expansion plan approved

Planning consent has been granted for Angus-based developer DJ Laing to expand its business park on Carnoustie’s western gateway.

Phase One of the 14-acre Victoria Green Business Park is now fully let, housing 15 diverse tenants across a spectrum of industries. These range from storage solutions for small businesses to a new kitchen showroom launched by a growing Carnoustie enterprise.

Notably, the majority of tenants are local businesses expanding into their first commercial premises to strengthen their operations and remain integrated within their geographical area. Some tenants already have plans to increase their workforce and expand into larger units due to their recent success.

In response to the high interest and rapid uptake, DJ Laing sought to build a further six starter units and two small business units, with projected completion by June 2026. A planning application has also been submitted for three larger units totalling 10,850 square feet – two of which are already reserved and expected to be completed by December 2026.

These additions mark the next chapter in a project born from a 15-year collaborative vision between the late Heinz Voigt of the Voigt Partnership and David Laing, chairman of DJ Laing.

Chairman David Laing said: “To see our vision actively supporting local businesses—from existing and online enterprises—is incredibly rewarding. Victoria Green isn’t just a business park; it’s a catalyst for sustainable growth in Carnoustie and Angus.

“The full occupancy of the first phase speaks volumes about business confidence. These expansions show real intent to make Angus a go-to destination for businesses.”
