Ardrossan community campus heads to planning

A planning application seeking approval to develop a new community campus in Ardrossan has been lodged.

Designed by jmarchitects, the new facility will be constructed on the former Shell refinery site in the town.
If approved, the campus will comprise learning provision for across early years, primary, secondary and additional support needs.
There will be shared community facilities including: a library and learning hub, indoor sports facilities including swimming pool, sports hall, gymnasium, dance studio & fitness studio, and outdoor sports facilities including two sports pitches and Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA).
If the application is approved by North Ayrshire Council’s planning committee later this year it is anticipated that the new campus will be open in August 2026.
Construction is due to begin next year but before the first bricks are laid extensive remediation and other enabling works will be carried out.
