Balfour Beatty names Melody Meyer and Sandra Stash as non-executive directors

The international infrastructure group, Balfour Beatty, has announced the appointment of Melody Meyer and Sandra (Sandy) Stash on 6 July as the company’s non-executive directors and members of the Remuneration Committee, effective on 13 July.

Meyer carries international board and executive experience within complex, capital intensive and safety critical industries.

At present, she is the non-executive director, chair of the Public Policy & Sustainability Committee and member of the Audit Committee of AbbVie Inc and as non-executive director of Airswift Parent LLC.  



Previously, she was a non-executive director on the boards of NOV Inc. and of BP plc, where she chaired the Safety and Sustainability Committee and was a Remuneration Committee member. 

Before taking on non-executive roles, Meyer had a 37-year executive career at Chevron, paving the way for her role as president of Chevron Asia Pacific Exploration & Production, where she oversaw major global activity and capital projects as well as more than 11,000 staff members.

Meyer said: “I look forward to working with my fellow Directors to support the delivery of its strategy and continued focus on operational excellence, sustainability and long-term value creation.”

Stash is an international non-executive director with a background in infrastructure, energy and the capital-intensive space. She is currently on the boards of ACWA Power and Trans Mountain Company, where share chairs the Operations and HSE Committee. Stash has formerly taken non-executive director positions at Diversified Energy Company plc, where she was the senior independent director, EVRAZ plc, Medallion Midstream, Lucid Energy, and Chaarat Gold.



Sandy’s executive background spans over 40 years in the international energy sector. This includes senior leadership positions at Tullow Oil including executive vice president, safety, operations and engineering, Talisman Energy and BP America.
