Bancon Group unveils new retrofit service

Bancon Group has today unveiled a new service that will see the firm provide a comprehensive turn-key solution for retrofitting.

The retrofit offering, a key strategic focus of Bancon Group, will be spearheaded by Ray Turner, partnerships director. The new business stream has been established specifically to cater to the burgeoning retrofit market and based on the remarkable success of the Housing Improvement Program (HIP), a £40 million retrofit programme across Aberdeenshire.

Kevin McColgan, CEO of Bancon Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the new service: “As a leading company in Scotland, it’s our duty to offer retrofit services to the vast majority of older homes owned by the council. These homes require upgrades to their insulation to ensure optimal heat retention. It’s essential that when people invest in heating their homes, these homes are equipped to retain that heat efficiently. Unfortunately, many homes currently fall short in this regard.”

Since 2018, Bancon has successfully retrofitted over 4,500 council properties, showcasing its expertise in housing refurbishment. Rooted locally, it champions community ties, employing regional talent and collaborating with local supply chains.

Ray Turner added: “Our unique position in the retrofit market allows us to provide a truly holistic solution. We handle everything for our client, from initial resident contact to insulation upgrades, EPC rating improvements, and more. The end result is a home that’s not only better insulated but also more energy-efficient.”
