Danielle Miller, associate director for stakeholder engagement at Built Environment - Smarter Transformation (BE-ST), will take the role from March 2026 until February 2027.

Danielle, who has been on the Central Scotland committee for four years, said: “I am delighted to be appointed as branch chair and it is a real honour to lead such an empowering organisation.

“The Central Scotland committee will continue to champion improved gender parity across the built environment sector, while working towards a more inclusive and supportive industry. This year, we will place a particular focus on male allies. This is not about making male colleagues feel uncomfortable; it is about helping them to better understand, support, and actively participate in improving gender balance across the sector.

“Our committee in Scotland is formed entirely of member volunteers from across the industry, who give their time and energy to support Women in Property’s core initiatives, including Schools Outreach, Inclusion and our Mentoring programme. We have a fantastic, multi-disciplinary network, which is a real USP for Women in Property and provides a valuable opportunity to promote cross-fertilisation of ideas through our CPD-accredited events and networking programme.”

Supporting Danielle in her new role will be vice chair, Claire Cockburn, senior architect at Purcell, and Rebecca Stuart, regional business generation manager at Turner & Townsend, who will take on the role of junior vice chair.

The Central Scotland events programme for the year ahead is already filling up. Nationally, WiP will host its People-Innovation-Place Summit in Manchester on 23 April. Locally, the branch will deliver a new members’ breakfast and a series of “Meet the Committee” lunches to share the vision for the year ahead and gather member feedback.

Further events in planning include a Pilates class, a political briefing breakfast and The Avenues walking tour. With every event sold out so far this year, members are encouraged to keep an eye out for upcoming announcements.
