Bellway site manager completes Himalayan Trek
Bellway site manager Fergus O’Boyle has raised £4,000 for Cancer Research following an epic Himalayan Trek.
Fergus and his sister Lorraine were joined by five Bellway colleagues from Newcastle as they set off from Delhi for five days of trekking through the forest, passing isolated Buddhist monasteries. The eleven-day trip also included a guided expedition to the Dharamsala home of his holiness the Dalai Lama.
A keen walker, Fergus’ training included a trip up Ben Nevis before his journey began.
Fergus said: “I love camping and hiking and it really was a dream trip for me although my sister hadn’t tackled any walks previously.
“Each day our treks reached 3,000m high in spectacular scenery and it really was like stepping back in time when we came across remote villages.
“The trip was well organised and I’d love to do it again. I’m extremely grateful to everyone who sponsored me and all the money raised will go specifically to the Bowelbabe Fund.”
Fergus, who lives near Whitburn, works at Bellway’s latest development, Howford Park in Crookston, Glasgow.
