Bellway welcomes seal of approval for site manager

Peter Lawrie

Bellway site manager Peter Lawrie has been presented with a Seal of Excellence Award by the National House Building Council (NHBC).

Peter, who lives in Dunfermline, received the prestigious award in recognition of the quality and presentation of his work at the company’s Earl’s Way development in Glenrothes.

Earlier this year, Peter received a Pride in the Job award in the annual UK competition; however, this is the second year in a row he has received a Seal of Excellence Award with Bellway.

Peter was one of only fourteen site managers in Scotland to receive the award, which attracted applications from 8,000 site managers throughout the UK. However, no stranger to these awards, last year Peter represented Scotland at the UK Supreme final, narrowly missing out in the Larger Builder category for his work at Earl’s Way.

Peter said: “Despite having won before, you can never be complacent in these awards as the benchmark raises year on year. It’s a great recognition to receive but not just for me, for the entire team at Earl’s Way who put in their best each day for every client.”

The Seal of Excellence and Pride in the Job awards involve a rigorous process, including spot checks on the day-to-day running of a site. Each site manager is assessed across six key areas which are consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety. Pride in the Job Quality Awards are announced in June, followed by the Seal of Excellence Awards.

John Dierikx, construction director for Bellway Homes Ltd (Scotland East), said: “Peter and his team continue to deliver a fantastic job and winning an award is not easy. It’s challenging to maintain standards consistently throughout the year and every year. It’s a terrific achievement and we are all very proud.”
