Buchan Offshore Wind makes Glasgow office move
CBRE has advised Buchan Offshore Wind on its relocation to 3,733 sq. ft. of new office space at Ediston’s refurbished 70 Wellington Street in Glasgow.
The move marks a significant step in the company’s growth and reinforces its commitment to Scotland’s renewable energy sector, with Glasgow’s connectivity, skilled workforce and proximity to key energy and engineering networks central to the decision.
70 Wellington Street, located in the heart of Glasgow’s central business district, has been extensively redeveloped to deliver high-quality, fully-fitted workspace alongside vibrant shared amenities, including breakout areas and meeting facilities designed to support modern occupiers.
Ediston has invested a total of £3.5 million in the refurbishment of 70 Wellington Street, delivering a comprehensive overhaul of the reception area, basement wellness facilities, ground floor lounge and a range of fully fitted office suites, creating a high-quality working environment for modern occupiers.
Clare Lavelle, project director at Buchan Offshore Wind, said: “Relocating from nearby to 70 Wellington Street allows us to stay in a thriving area of the city centre that works well for us, with the transport links and wide range of amenities on the doorstep being consistently valued by our staff.
“Our new workplace, with its balance of office, meeting and social space provides the right environment to support collaborative working and, as our pioneering wind farm project develops, positions us well for the continued growth of our team.”
The new office will act as a central hub for project delivery, stakeholder engagement and supply-chain collaboration, supporting both onshore and offshore development activity as the project progresses.
Sarah Hagen, director at CBRE, said: “Working closely with Buchan Offshore Wind, our priority was to find a workplace that reflects both their immediate needs and future ambitions. 70 Wellington Street offered the right balance, delivering high-quality space in a well-connected location which will support their continued growth within Scotland’s offshore wind sector as they continue to expand.”
Andy McKinlay, chairman of Ediston, said: “On behalf of Clydebuilt, we are pleased to welcome Buchan Offshore Wind to 70 Wellington Street. This letting underlines the sustained demand for premium, fully-fitted office space in Glasgow city centre and reflects the growing momentum behind the offshore wind sector as a key driver of economic growth.”
