  • Next phase of A92/A96 Haudagain Junction Improvement to get under way

Farrans Construction, the contractor for the A92/A96 Haudagain Junction Improvement for Transport Scotland, will soon begin the next phase of delivery with the construction of two key junctions.

Building Briefs - August 31st

These junctions will, upon project completion, connect the new link road to the existing A96 and A92, enabling road users to bypass the Haudagain Roundabout.

During this phase of the works there will be a number of traffic restrictions in place on the A92 and A96 in the vicinity of the Haudagain Roundabout for the safety of both road users and road workers, as much of this work will be carried out near to, or on the road itself.

This phase of the construction work will be carried out in a number of stages with traffic management on the A92 and A96 anticipated to be ongoing through the first quarter of next year.

On the 31 August 2020, this work will commence with the closure of the westbound lane on the A96 Auchmill Road, the closure of one lane southbound on the A92 and the continued closure of one lane northbound on the A92 for approximately 2 weeks.

  • Non-essential repairs in Moray Council homes to resume

Non-emergency repairs in council homes in Moray will resume from September 1.

Tenants will soon be contacted by Moray Council to arrange appointments for outstanding repairs.

Since lockdown in March, only emergency repairs have been carried out, to reduce the risk of transmission of coronavirus. With an increased number of qualified tradespeople now available and safe working practices established - including social distancing and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), the backlog of non-emergency repairs can be tackled.

  • Council calls for Beith businesses and residents to share accessibility needs ahead of regeneration works

Residents and businesses of Main Street, Beith, are being encouraged to take part in a survey to help inform regeneration of the town centre.

The questionnaire seeks to understand the access requirements of locals which will be used to help reduce the impact of the construction works.

The project aims to improve the streetscape of the town centre and will include resurfacing the central carriageway, replacing paving and street furniture and reinstalling road markings.

Residents and business owners can advise on their accessibility requirements, deliveries, vehicle types and operating hours by completing the online survey.

Responses should be submitted by 21 September and will assist in the programming and delivery of the works.
