£4m Linlithgow building refurb complete

Work on a £4 million building refurbishment project in Linlithgow, West Lothian is now complete.

The County Buildings in the town’s High Street have been redeveloped by Maxi Construction into the Linlithgow Partnership Centre - Tam Dalyell House.

A number of facilities will be relocated in the completed building including; Linlithgow Library, Customer Information Services, Local History Library, Family History Society, Linlithgow Heritage Trust (formally known as Annet House) and Linlithgow & District Community Day Care Centre. Accommodation will also be provided for Police Scotland, which has relocated from the nearby police station, as well as spaces for council staff.



 

Plans unveiled for new Methil care village

Plans have been unveiled to develop a new care village for older people in Methil.

The development will replace the Methilhaven Care Home and forms the second phase of Fife Health and Social Care Partnership’s multi-million pound capital programme, with new care villages already completed in Kirkcaldy (Ostlers House), Glenrothes (Napier House) and Lumphinnans (Lindsay House).



The new Methil facility will be built on the site of the former Kirkland High School. Various site investigations will be carried out by specialist engineers conducting ground investigations.

 

Beam delivery for new A737 Dalry bypass

The contractor on the A737 Dalry Bypass project is expected to take delivery of five large beams to enable construction of the overbridge at Blair Road.



The deliveries which are planned to take place in the early hours of Monday and Tuesday morning (January 29 and 30) will arrive under police escort and any road users travelling during this time ( 0000-0400 hrs) may experience a slight delay in their journey as the beams are manoeuvred through the town.

On reaching Dalry, the abnormal loads will travel along the A737 New Street, turning right into Bridgend and onto Blair Road before reaching the construction site which will be the final destination.
