  • Russell Roof Tiles employee marks 15 years of service

One of the senior managers at Lochmaben-based Russell Roof Tiles is celebrating a major milestone.

After he first joined as a graduate trainee manager, regional sales director Alan Young is now celebrating 15 years with the firm.

Employing 61 people at its Lochamben site, Russell Roof Tiles is an independent roof tile manufacturer providing products for UK house builders and high-profile social housing and commercial projects, where sustainability and eco-credentials are of the utmost priority.



Over the years Alan’s roles have included sales executive in the North West, area manager role for Scotland and North East England, he then became regional sales manager for Scotland and North England, before finally being promoted to regional sales director for the same region in 2016.

In recognition of his long service Alan was presented with an award by Andrew Hayward, managing director at Russell Roof Tiles, who added: “Alan is a fantastic member of the team and a real asset to the business and we’re delighted that he’s achieved his long service award – the first of many we hope.”

 

  • Resurfacing works due to start in Dumfries and Galloway

Dumfries and Galloway Council has announced the closure of the A709 to facilitate resurfacing works.



The road between A75 Dumfries Bypass and Catherinefield Road will be closed from today to Sunday 26 January 2019.

 

  • Scottish Water to carry out sewer repairs in Clydebank

Scottish Water has issued a reminder to road users that a temporary road traffic management system will be in place in Clydebank to allow a sewer repair to be carried out.



Following the discovery of a collapsed sewer in Drumry Road, Clydebank at the end of December, essential repair work is underway.
