Stewart Milne Homes has been recognised at the Homes for Scotland Awards 2017, collecting the coveted Private Development of the Year (Large) Award for its development at Earl’s Green.

The winners were announced at The Homes for Scotland Awards 2017 which saw a record number of industry guests gather at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre in Edinburgh on May 12.

 

Plans submitted for 40 new homes in East End at former Glasgow Zoo site



Taylor Wimpey has submitted plans to build 40 new homes in Glasgow’s East End.

The national housebuilder have officially submitted to Glasgow City Council their proposals to develop at the former Glasgow Zoo site and Ellismuir Road in Baillieston.

The firm say they want to build 40 semi-detached and detached two storey houses including associated infrastructure and services.

Representations can be made until May 31.



 

£25m student residential development to open in Edinburgh

Downing Students has revealed its £25 million New Park residential development in Edinburgh will be open to guests visiting the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The scheme consists of 238 shared apartments and studios off Easter Road near Leith. Features include en-suite bathrooms, large beds, storage space and bicycle storage on site.



The facility set to open in time for the 2017/2018 academic year.

 

Work to start on Fife road improvement project

Work is to begin on a £250,000 road improvement project in Fife.



Breedon Aggregates will start carriageway resurfacing on the A915 Standing Stane Road from Monday, 22 May.

The project is being carried out in three phases and diversions will be in place;

  • Phase 1 - Work on Windygates roundabout with junction closure on A916 into Windygates


  • Phase 2 - Work on Cameron roundabout with junction closure on B932 to Methilhill
  • Phase 3 - Work on A915 under temporary traffic signals and convoy.
