The development will deliver 24 new properties in total, 18 of which are available for social rent, whilst the remaining 6 are part of the Scottish Government’s New Supply Shared Equity Scheme.

The £4.1 million project was designed by Visio Architecture and constructed by E&H Building Contractors Ltd under a design and build contract, with £2.5m being provided by the Scottish Government.

Hjaltland said the completion of the project further demonstrates the Association’s ongoing commitment to supporting communities throughout Shetland.

Within its five-year business plan, further developments are planned for Sandwick, Gulberwick, Walls, Scalloway, Aith, Brae and Lerwick.

  • Stirling resurfacing works begin

Stirling Council has announced that resurfacing works to improve the A875 between Endrick Bridge and Boquhan have started as part of a commitment to upgrading the rural road network.

Resurfacing has begun between Endrick Bridge and Boquhan and is scheduled to last until October 30.

The existing road surface is in a very poor condition. The works will require the replacement of the existing base and surface of the road to an overall depth of 80mm.

These improvements follow on from the recent drainage and footway upgrade works on this section of road.
