Cala Homes awards Project Theatre £1,000

A Falkirk-based youth theatre has received a much-needed £1,000 funding boost from housebuilder Cala Homes.

Project Theatre, which was founded in 2008 by Jamie O’Rourke, focuses on promoting youth and community involvement in performing arts across Falkirk, Grangemouth and beyond by providing performing arts training and performance experiences.

Project Theatre received £1,000 from Cala Homes (West) Community Bursary initiative, with the funding helping Jamie purchase PPE, a speaker. as well as dance mirrors and studio equipment.



Jamie O’Rourke, founder and artistic director of Project Theatre, said: “We want to say a massive thank you to Cala for their generous donation. We feel very lucky that we were able to secure the community bursary boost. This will help us to get more people within the community involved in Project Theatre.”

Sophie Whittaker, marketing manager for Cala Homes (West), added: “We’re delighted that we could donate £1,000 to Project Theatre. We are thrilled that the money is being used to help further the great things Jamie and the organisation does for the Falkirk community.”
