Cala unveils early plans for new development in Larbert
Cala Homes (West) has submitted a Proposal of Application Notice (PoAN) to Falkirk Council, marking the first formal stage in the planning process for a proposed new residential development in Larbert.
The housebuilder hopes to deliver a thoughtfully designed, well-integrated extension to the existing community at the 14.5-acre site located just off Bellsdyke Road. The plans include a considered mix of private and affordable homes to help meet local housing demand.
The proposed development would form part of the final phase of a 2001 agreement between the NHS, Cala and Persimmon Homes. This has seen the delivery of almost 1700 homes as part of the Hill of Kinnaird Masterplan Area.
Expansive green spaces will form a key feature of the development, alongside a new roundabout and spine road designed to improve connectivity with the wider area and enhance access for residents.
As part of the pre-application process, Cala Homes (West) is inviting members of the local community to attend two public consultation events to view the proposals and importantly, share feedback.
The consultation events will take place as follows:
- 2pm – 7pm - Wednesday 25 March - Dobbie Hall, Stenhousemuir, Larbert, FK5 4BL
- 2pm –7pm - Wednesday 29 April - Dobbie Hall, Stenhousemuir, Larbert, FK5 4BL
Information about the proposal will be available to view at the events, and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback through consultation materials.
For those unable to attend, the information boards and the opportunity to share feedback will also be made available online via a dedicated project website.
Michael Clements, land manager at Cala Homes (West), said: “The submission of the Proposal of Application Notice represents an important milestone for our plans in Larbert. We look forward to engaging with the local community throughout the consultation process, and feedback from residents will play a vital role in shaping the final planning application.
“Larbert continues to be a highly sought-after location, offering strong transport connections to Glasgow and Edinburgh, excellent local schools and easy access to scenic woodland walks in the surrounding countryside.”
Cala has an established and highly successful presence in Larbert, having delivered more than 800 homes at the Kinnaird Village development. This includes affordable homes, alongside significant infrastructure improvements, the delivery of a new primary school and retail units.
If planning permission is granted, Cala Homes (West) will deliver a tailored programme of community support through its dedicated Community Pledge initiative. This would include working closely with local groups and organisations to provide meaningful, long-term benefits such as donations, volunteering, and educational initiatives in local schools.
