Campion Homes proposes 40-unit sheltered housing development in Dunfermline

Campion Homes, in partnership with Fife Council, has lodged plans to construct a significant sheltered housing development in Dunfermline.

The plans entail erecting 40 sheltered housing apartments adjacent to Canmore Primary School, designed to cater to the needs of elderly and disabled individuals, fostering independent living with necessary support.

The proposed development, situated along Aberdour Road/Evershed Drive, would offer specialist housing with amenities such as warden facilities, communal dining areas, kitchens, and lounges. While visible from Aberdour Road, access to the development is suggested via Evershed Drive.

Comprising entirely of affordable housing, the development would feature one-bedroom amenity flats, as well as one and two-bedroom wheelchair-accessible flats, and two-bedroom amenity flats. Consultations with Fife’s housing and neighbourhoods service revealed a consensus on the necessity of affordable housing in the Dunfermline and coastal region, The Courier reports.

Although concerns regarding increased traffic, school parking, and proximity to the school were raised during a pre-application consultation in November 2022, no formal objections have been lodged on the planning portal.
